Hello again!
I'm Victoria Lucarelli.
I'm a UX Designer, Researcher & Copywriter, plus a professional writer; and in past lives, I've done plenty of cool work about things I love.
I’m a champion for not just “user-friendly products,” but for people-centered experiences that welcome users back again and again. My forward-thinking, explorative, and imaginative mentality towards design ensures no detail gets left behind when tackling even the biggest ideas.
Outside of work, I join my friends in online and in-person gaming experiences, and have organized live Nerf events and tabletop gaming sessions. As a result, I'm a bold, vocal team-builder and mediator, advocating for my colleagues’ diverse skill sets, and facilitating collaboration towards focused solutions to difficult challenges.
In my downtime, I write fiction collaboratively and take on big challenges with friends in video games, and I'm fascinated with theme park design and tech.
My career goal is to be able to afford to try all of the escape rooms in NYC.
Recent Work
UX/UI Consulting for LogAware, (August 2022) an SaaS startup in the logistics and shipping space. Our team spoke to freight forwarders, transporters, and dispatchers to design an approachable app that consolidates communications and documents into one easy dashboard.
(Case study available via this portfolio.)
Professional freelance writer, especially regarding video gaming and general geek culture. While I'm currently primarily over at MMORPG.com writing about one or two games and a review here or there, I've done features, interviews, and on-the-ground research for Vice, Polygon, Variety, ESPN, and a lot more.
General Assembly UX Design Immersive (June - September 2022), which entails an immersive, full-time, in-person program spanning 13-weeks and 400+ hours. Fellows design and propose original apps, sites, and speculative features for existing products, building on foundations of original user research and seeing the UX/UI process through to full product/feature pitches.

My Skills
Past Experience
Museum of Ice Cream (Feburary 2021 - May 2022) at its NYC flagship location, where staff aims to connect visitors both from NYC and around the world. We not only served ice cream (rigorously in compliance with local health laws), but managed crowd flow, ensured exhibit safety, and made sure guests had a memorable, sweet time through friendly, semi-scripted interactions.
Other gigs: Panels at PAX East 2017 and 2019, non-profit intern (media and internet rights), college summer events manager, Starbucks barista.
Kick Axe, (September 2019 - March 2020) in Brooklyn, NY, where "Axe Pros" taught guests (of all inebriation levels) how to safely participate in axe and hatchet throwing, which honestly sounds a lot more dangerous than it is done right. We led throwers through lessons and games, plus managed venue readiness to ensure usable "lanes."
Traditional Education:
Mount Holyoke College (Grad. 2017) with a Bachelor in Arts in Sociology and a "Nexus," a minor plus internship and research work; founded a video game club.
High Technology High School (Grad. 2012) in New Jersey, a top-ranked STEM magnet school with college-level education in pre-engineering.
